Just Gotta make a decision . . .

I'm going to be redoing the Fan Art page. It's getting a little big, and I've been wanting to add my art to it so it would then get even bigger. So I would just change it to an "Art" page and then use thumbnails for the pictures and stuff.

I am also considering putting the Gag Strips there. After the new chapter starts and they stop boosting my pages per week, they don't really need to be in the archive anymore. I could make this Art page an Art/Gag page. I just think that they are somewhat annoying for people going through the entire archive. They just make it take longer to get to the next chapter.

But then we have my Abandoned Concepts and Discussions with the Author pages. They should probably be taken down too, if I'm taking down the gags. But then my explanations would be hard to squeeze in if I use the thumbnail method I'm considering . . .

So it's a lot to think about. I'm just trying to clean up the archives so it's easier for new readers to read everything straight through. I also read through the archives now and again and skipping over these pages gets kinda annoying, even for me.

If you have some input, let me know. Especially you gag strip artists. Would you just totally be offended if I took your gag down for this Art/Gag page? I mean, in the submission page, I even said it'd be in the archives and stuff, so I'd be going back on that if I take them down. Let me know what you think.

If you think about this in a new reader sort of way, moving the gag strips and others out of the main archive would be good so you can follow the story better. So I'll be alright with that.

I think they're fine in the in-between chapters spaces, personally. I actually like having them there, for when I read back over the archives...

And it would be very difficult to fit in the Abandoned Concepts on a separate page.

You could instead of making a page with all the gag strips and what not...put the gag strips up on like a deviant art account...and link there on your fan art page, it would really clear up clutter.

Or you could just make an entier seperate comic for the gag strips once they are removed from teh archives. Just a few ideas...take them or leave them.

By the way , I know I never comment, but you have a good thing going here, your art improves by the page and your concpet is very nice. Keep it up girly!

Hmmm... I'd say, make a new a page for your own art, don't put it up with the fan art. That's how I do it myself, because that way there can be no confusion about what I've drawn and what was drawn by somebody else. 'Course, I guess style also gives that away, but anyway... Ahem...

As for the gags... I guess the only loss for us gag artist (though I've only drawn one) is the fact that the comments will be deleted. Other than that there's no real reason not to move them. It's up to you, really... :)

Yay, some input! AkumaTh: True enough, that's what I was thinking. So thanks for saying so.

Tyto Alba: I sometimes don't mind them and other times I'm like, ugh! You know? So maybe it just depends on the person and the mood they're in . . .

And yeah, the Abandoned Concepts would be annoying to move. One of the negatives.

Chenata: I've thought about doing something like that too, but I'd feel guilty on Deviant Art where it's not my art, and I don't know that I would get readers if I were to them on a different comic. But it is an idea too.

Thanks for speaking up today! I really appreciate it, and I'm glad you like the comic! I'll do my best for you!

Neko: Well, the reason I don't want to do a separate page is because there are already so many buttons in that tool bar. If I add anymore, it'll probably put it on a different line, which would look a little funny. And sometimes on different computers and such, it cuts that bar off so you can't see the buttons. That may be a problem as it is. (I want to make a button for the forums so I can get rid of that one.)

And yeah, I am afraid of losing the comments too. All things to think about . . .

So thanks!

I like having the little gags at the end of the chapter, personally.

Vye Brante, March 13th, 2008, 2:55 pm

Oh yeah? Well, thank you for saying so.

Oranges_and_Pears, March 13th, 2008, 7:38 pm

Yeah, I agree with kirbyboy102. I think the gags would let new readers digest a little what had just happened at the end of a chapter.

Vye Brante, March 13th, 2008, 8:13 pm

True. Another good point. And perhaps they wouldn't be as appreciated if read without the chapter.

Neko (Guest), March 14th, 2008, 5:29 am

Well, maybe you could abbreviate page titles. Like 'First Comic' could simply become 'First', 'Submission Guidlines' could bcome 'Submit art?'

OR, can you use images in that toolbar?

klinkhauer, March 14th, 2008, 10:52 am

I don't really mind myself, since my "gag Strip" qualifies for fanart status anyway... XD But I think the explanations can stand to stay in the archive. :)

Vye Brante, March 14th, 2008, 11:42 am

Neko: Those buttons up until Character are part of the page format itself. I don't know if I can edit those. Probably could if I played with it some more.

klinkhauer: Heh, well, I used it as a gag nonetheless. And thanks for the input with the Abandoned Concepts.
