Yay for explanations. The explanation made sense to me! We'll see if it makes the same sense to you guys.

Let's see if I can keep this comment short. This page came out all right. More or less just a transition page so maybe not all that important. Pr. Evur turned out a bit weird in the second and last panel. I think I keep changing Butterfree's wing pattern. No idea because I don't really check. I probably should. Like so many other things . . .

One of these days, maybe I'll come around! Thanks for bearing with me in the meantime.

Doesn't this comic have a main character? Maybe we should check in on her. Visit the forums until next time!

there are the slight differences in butterfree's wing pattern, but in general it's staying the same.

Check in on hilaree? Nonsence! Just make Evur the main character. Hilaree can be an NPC.

That butterfree looks pleased.

Dalek555, August 18th, 2010, 1:13 pm

I didn't look at Butterfree's wing pattern.
Yay for epic-ly owning the "crazy hermit lady" (as Hillaree puts it).

Clever Butterfree! You keep the wing patturn on Butterfree relatively consistent, although it's the wrong pattern. When I drew up my first test page for my "application" I had to draw Lopunny and Butterfree(it's the page where Lopunny punched Butterfree if you're wondering). This meant I needed references, I just can't draw characters who I haven't designed without a good reference because it would just look awkward to me(I'm very harsh when it comes to my own work). Luckily I picked up a neat stratagy guide that contains a Pokedex of practically all Pokemon(I say "practically" because for some odd reason it doesn't have Arceus). Oh, and please do get on with Hilaree soon, but take your time with these two if you need to.

Now with that out of the way, to business(well sorta). Now, how should I send my works to you? Should I just treat it like a fanart submission or something? Also, what size are your pages exactly? I'll start sending in test pages regardless, though it would be nice to know.

Any pokemon can be useful.
That's why I used my Beedrill in Soulsilver against the kimono girls and the Elite four.

DragonhandX: I figured as much. I really should check now and again.

Djoing: Ha ha, a lot of people would support a comic about Pr. Evur, I'd guess.

I am pleased that Butterfree is pleased. Heh.

Dalek555: I think it'd probably only be noticable if you check. Hopefully. I dunno.

Epicly owning is the best kind.

crapcarp: Yeah, go ahead and PM it to me. Size? Well, pixel size is 438x620, I believe. MB size varies by page. But yeah, PM and we'll talk about it.

Hillaree's actually coming back on the next page. We're done with Kuri and Pr. Evur for the time being. They'll be back again before the end of the chapter though, I believe.

Hero of Comedy: Beedrill is always good if you're willing to put the work into it. It can be hard to train in the early levels, but it can actually be really good. I love training them.

But yeah, all Pokemon can be useful if you use them right, I'd suppose.

Wait... Since it's not touching the ground, the electricity wouldn't hurt it. But if it touched a tree, it would. If it has a link to the ground, the electricity has somewhere to go, but if it doesn't... Yeah.

That's why cars are okay if they're struck by lightning, as long as they're not touching any trees or poles or sommat. Because the rubber is an insulator that keeps the electricity from going to the ground.

Me and my science-y brain... ;~;

the being, August 18th, 2010, 10:38 pm

That's a cool turn-around! ;O

Rocket0634, August 19th, 2010, 2:17 am

omg, boxes! That means a transition! Yay, a transition!

And I think Pr. Evur undercover sounds epic. You now have my attention again! (Just in time for Hillaree. Go figure.)

Keep up the good work, Vye!

Vye Brante, August 20th, 2010, 3:49 am

mudkip003: Well . . . then why are flying types weak against eletric types? The electricity has to go somewhere, otherwise it'd just stay in the body. The painful part of it comes when it jumps from one object to another, trying to get to the ground. Like when you build up static electricity and then touch something and get that shock. I remember in science class, our teacher hooked everyone up to this electricity thingy and we didn't get a painful shock until either someone let go or someone grabbed onto a metal pipe to create a ground. We had electricity flowing through us until that point and it didn't hurt. But once the electricity moved, it did.

Airplanes get struck by lightening all the time. But they've taken precautions to prevent it from damaging the plane. From what I understand, it was a problem before. And cars can still be a ground. On MythBusters, I remember them doing the Myth about static staring gasoline on fire at gas stations. This can happen. Their expert said it most happens with young people would don't grab onto the car and discharge the electricity. It'd still be built up in the car if it couldn't escape at all.

While I will admit I haven't really done research on the topic, I figured that if Butterfree was in contact with the tree when he got struck, the electricity would pass from him directly into the tree and then down to the ground, eliminating that jump. Whether or not this would really help . . . I dunno. Like I said, it made sense to me.

. . . Science and logic have no place in Pokemon!! Heh. So yeah. I don't know that it'd work but it did as far as the comic is concerned. So I hope you will forgive it.

the being: Glad you think so.

Rocket0634: Aw, I really lost your focus? I'm sorry. But yeah, transition time! Let's check in on Hillaree.
