You, Hillaree. He's afraid of YOU. Oh, look. A page! My gosh! This doesn't happen often! (Anymore!)

I missed you Hillaree!! You have no idea. We haven't seen her since June! And after all those PCBC pages, I was REALLY looking forward to working on Hillaree again. I missed you, you anti-social-emo numan Mary Sue!

Speaking on the PCBC briefly . . . I lost. Yep. Round went to my opponent. I wasn't surprised as her entry was finished and whatnot. And looking over some of the notes on other entries, it seems they like shorter comics. So I was basically doomed from the start either way. I can't make short, simple stories anymore! Plus, my art is total crap compared to a lot of the other entrants so even if they didn't mind longer comics, I wouldn't have won. (Not to say that I lost simply because my entry was long, but that may have been a factor.)

But yeah, since I lost in the first round, (like I predicted I would,) I am free to work on other things . . . almost. See, I don't want to leave Skyler's story unfinished, so I will be continuing his story in a "spectator" comic. I was thinking I would only go one more round, but it may get put into two or more. While I don't have to worry about opponents or rule limitations, I still kinda sorta need to watch the deadline. (Crap.) So updates will continue to be scarce, I am afraid. Hopefully not as bad as before, but I don't know . . . Just depends.

Anyway, back to this comic. Was going to have this go up Wednesday since that's a normal update day but went for today for the heck of it. It was actually really fun making this! I guess after all the lazy half finished PCBC pages, it was nice to actually TRY to make something look pretty! Who knew!

Why is it always Telepathy bubbles I can never position in a clear manner?! Geez. And hi there Ven. I guess I missed you too. Even though you look a bit off here. Inked him weird I think. I inked it weeks ago though so I don't know.

Anyway, contest is still going on. If you have forgotten, here are the details: Contest Details. I will also be doing a stream Wednesday. I will be hopefully starting around 12:30 P.M. Mountain Time. I don't know how long it will take me, but I will be working on my Nuzlocke cover. For those that are starting school or in different time zones, there will be a break somewhere that evening, but then I'll be starting up again . . . probably around 8 ish? That one is hard to say for sure. Depends how long I leave for. I am sure the cover won't take up that entire time so I may end up working on Just Gotta or that Gotta Past page. See what else I got layin' around too. Think I have one more Key of the Dimensions too . . . Hmmm . . . I need to fire up my Desktop and see what's on there. Heh.

I also switched back to Livestream. This way, you don't need an account to use the chat, and we don't have ads playing every couple minutes. Just one at the start, and then you're done. Here's where you can find that channel: http://www.livestream.com/vyebrante?t=446077

Anyway, hope you liked the page. I will hopefully not keep you waiting too much longer for the next one. Saturday maybe? Visit the forums!

He's afraid of...

tripping.

Yes, that has to be it.

Foxblaze, August 23rd, 2011, 4:24 pm

Lol okay, now I need to find out what time that will be for me. I believe mountain time is -7, but I have no clue. I'm Pacific, -8, so I just need to look that up. I was in alberta the past week, and I got back... last night. Lol hard to tell, didn't get a lot of sleep. I picked up a microphone so I could start doing livestreams because I finally borrowed the manga program again, only to find I have one cd and it's the wrong one. Tried to go to the pirate bay to download it, but it went completely off and I didn't get what I wanted. So I had to uninstall the things it got me to install. Don't suppose you know another site that has Manga Studio Debut 4 or another way to get it without shopping do you?

Hero of Comedy, August 23rd, 2011, 4:27 pm

@Foxblaze Maybe this will help you figure it out. I'm central time, and it says you commented when it was 4:24 here.

Also, he can't attack without lifting the sword of the ground and losing control of Hillaree's gravity.

DJ has it.

Pacific (My time): 11:30 AM
Mountain: 12:30 PM
Central: 1:30 PM

P- 7ish
M (Vye's time?)- 8ish

Hopefully that clears things up Foxblaze.

Alright, looks like you're finally getting the hang of hands.*Looks at last panel* DAMMIT VYE! Haven't you heard of working with a larger picture and then shinking it down? If you haven't, you might want to look into that. You can put in a lot of detail and even hide minor mistakes using the technique. And it only takes a second to export the image in a scaled-down size, okay? It shouldn't add that much of a workload, therefore you have no excuse to not use it. A warning though: If your page has tone(s) in it, you're gonna have to do a 2-step export. Basically, you export the image at full size, then you scale the image down in another imaging program like GIMP(it's free, so no excuse).

Also, side-mouths look like shit. Stop that.

Vye Brante, September 3rd, 2011, 4:11 am

Djoing: Oh yeah. That must be it. How could I miss that?

Foxblaze: Heh, this is old so seems like you figured out the time for the stream. And no, I don't know anywhere you can download Manga Studio for free.

Hero of Comedy: He can still blast at her, he just can't attack with his sword.

Striffen Cloud: I agree.

Rocket0634: Thanks for answering. (Since I didn't.)

crapcarp: I learn now and again . . . Just really, really, really slow at it.

Took me a while to figure out what you meant about shrinking pictures. At this point, whatever I draw on the paper is what is on a page. Making a separate file so I could make it bigger and shrink it down is more work that I don't think would add enough to it to make it worth it. I do think that there could be times where that might come in handy though, so I will keep it in mind.

I have been experimenting with drawing things and having them be separate images. That's how I did the Nuzlocke cover. So that's a step towards what you're talking about, I suppose. Maybe one day I'll do it.
